The future of PixelTwips (Beta Update - January 24, 2020)

Hello everyone, lunzyde here!

I wanted to talk about the future of this game and what are my plans with it, the game is nearly done, as most of the backbone of the game is already done the only thing that needs to be done it's mostly UI/UX and Save States (other than all of that, it's just extra content to be added).

What is next for the game

Beta 1.3.0 will be the last major update to expect, it should contain all the final user interface designs and more. This beta stage will most likely be for polishing and making adjustments for the game, feedback will be very important and critical for this stage. Unfortunately, I've decided to cut future features and plans, if I don't do this the development process will take longer.

What will be cut from the game

I wanted to implement high scores but the casual and custom mode would cause me some problems with that, and after analyzing and hearing feedback from players, most of the players I've talked to don't care about high scores, and those who do just focus on reaching the highest stage possible (from the momentum update).

Future major updates after release will also be cut short, I feel like I should focus on other projects and let this game stand on its own. This does not mean that a future major update will never happen, it's probable that sometime in the future I'll want to add more content to the game.

What should you expect when it gets released?

I've got some good news and bad news; The good news is that I've decided that the game should be free for everyone!

The bad news, the game would be only available on Itch.io and Google's Play Store. I don't think I'll push the game to Apple's App Store or Steam, if the demand is enough I'll consider the possibility of it. In any case, the game will still be playable in web browsers on Itch.io for both Apple and Android users (even Windows, Mac, and Linux).
